Canada Mission Team is Ready!

Tomorrow - bright, early and well before most of us are awake - the Canada Mission Team will depart Ocala headed to Mississauga, Ontario for five days. The team will serve alongside Brett & Kathryn Porter and David & Ruth Hudson as they reach out to the community through their church - The Sanctuary. Stay tuned to this blog to see how God moves over the coming days to reach the children and community of Mississauga.

Thursday and Friday - Lisa, Sarah Jo, Bonnie and Jeff arrived safely, visited Niagra Falls, were shown around Mississauga by the Hudsons. Friday morning we prepped the athletic field (shoveling, raking, marking) for camp later. Ruth's food is great. "Random acts" in a mall by the Ocala Four, to help folks, introduce them to Sanctuary church, and evangelize in general. We appreciate your prayers. --JD

We constructed and painted two wooden toss games to be used later. Ruth said she is so impressed that she will be proud to haul them out of the vehicle when they debut.
Through Athletes In Action, Dave introduced us to two wonderful Argonauts (Canadian pro football players) who are believers in Jesus. Today (Sunday) were taken on a tour of downtown Toronto, including Chinatown. Drinking "bubble tea" is a one-time experience. It is tapioca tea, which is consumed through straws large enough to fit the garbanzo bean-sized tapioca pearls. Last night was the BBQ hosted by Sanctuary church members Lester and Jenny. We worshipped in the church this morning. Thanks to all in Ocala who help and pray for us and the missionaries. Tonight at the FBC website we saw the Pastor Search candidates, a really good crop. --JD

My last post didn't make it through - sorry. We are now home in humid Florida. Since the last post we constructed two wooden carnival-toss games to be used later, worshiped at the Sanctuary church, the Hudsons' home church in Canada, and enjoyed a BBQ at which we met the second Argonaut that Dave introduced us to (Argonauts are one of Canada's pro football teams) It was great to see the team of FBC youth in Canada. Our experience with "bubble tea" was not so good. Thanks for the support from FBC and all the prayers. --JD
